Director, Strategy & Business Operations | San Mateo, CA

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and a knack for driving impact across diverse business units? A leading global organization is seeking a Director of Strategy & Business Operations to join a high-impact team that shapes the direction of a portfolio of international businesses.

This role is part of a central Strategy & Business Operations team that partners with senior executives to drive top-line growth, operational efficiency, and long-term strategic priorities across digital content, e-commerce, advertising, and communications sectors.

Compensation: $150K $250k annually (commensurate with experience) + Bonus + Stock Options

About the Role:

As Director of Strategy & Business Operations, youll lead cross-functional initiatives that support key strategic and operational decisions. Reporting to the VP of Strategy & Business Operations, youll collaborate closely with leaders across product, sales, marketing, and operations, as well as present directly to C-suite stakeholders.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling complex business problems, coaching future leaders, and driving tangible business impact.

What Youll Do:

• Lead high-visibility strategy projects that drive growth, market expansion, and operational integration.
• Shape and execute long-term business strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Deliver detailed market and competitive analyses to guide executive decisions.
• Identify new business opportunities, including partnerships, M&A, and investments.
• Provide strategic thought leadership to teams across the organization.
• Coach and mentor junior team members to support their professional development.
• Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to executive stakeholders.

What You Bring:

• 8+ years of professional experience, including:
• 4+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm [preferred]
• 4+ years in a strategy function within a respected technology company
• MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to structure ambiguous problems.
• Experience influencing C-level executives and managing cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, especially with executive audiences.
• A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset and a passion for mentoring talent.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
